The antidote for fear is faith. But faith without a proper object compounds anxiety. The biblical witness parades ordinary people who have chosen to trust God as their only source of strength. The prophet Habakkuk reclaims his allegiance towards the One who “makes his feet like the feet of the deer” enabling him to experience the breathtaking vista of divine protection. We are called to remember the fluency of Christ’s promise that all authority and power has been granted to Him to facilitate our life purpose of glorifying Him as ambassadors of the gospel. As we go out in obedience to God’s Will, we find a most settled peace in a world unsettled by unbelief.
