Christmas leads us to the right path. It is a road that is least traveled and led by a person. More often, our Decembers are crowded by schedules and holiday purchase. We busy ourselves subliminally following the noise and seductive allure of gifts and cultural gatherings. Everything we seek, we do so frantically, except waiting upon God. He, on the other hand, waits patiently for us to turn around and see what we ignore. 

 

Traditionally, Advent begins the New Year. It ushers a long lost tradition of waiting upon God to demonstrate the necessity of hope, peace, joy, and love amidst all our hurriedness. This month, we light these candles to commence our intentional waiting for God to act upon our lives to redeem us from everything fake and trivial.
